How I attracted investment to fight insecurity, crime in Nasarawa – Sule

Nasarawa state governor, Abdullahi Sule has revealed that his administration has attracted a lot of investment to the state capable of taking the entire youths off the streets into gainful employment.

He said the key to tackling insecurity and crime is to build infrastructure and develop the state economy through attracting investments into different sectors of the state economy.

He stated this weekend at the government house Lafia during the occasion of a one-day stakeholders dialogue meeting on the demands presented by #ENDSARS in Lafia.

He vowed that his administration would not allow hooligans to infiltrate the innocent youths of the state to torment trouble.

“My administration has affected investors like the Dangote Group of Companies, Azman Rice Ltd, Flour Mills, Olam farms, among others into the state.

“These companies will serve as employment hubs for our teeming youths in the state, we also sustained the Nasarawa Youth Empowerment Scheme in an efforts to reduce redundancy among our youths,” he said.

He said that the activities of the #ENDSARS have continued to pose security threats with attendant consequences on human lives and property as well as the socio-economic development of the state.

He noted that the gathering is to carefully look into the plights of the protesters as it relates to Nasarawa state and address the 5-point demands of the #ENDSARS.

Also speaking, the minister of state, Science and Technology, Barr Mohammed Abdullahi Hassan thanks the youths of Nasarawa state for shown great understanding and restrain by refusing to be drawn into this endless protest.

He said that President Mohammadu Buhari is pained that as genuine as the protest was intended to press for reforms in the operation of certain segments of the Nigerian police, it was hijacked by unscrupulous hoodlums.

The stakeholders meeting was attended by the first civilian governor of the state and Senator representing Nasarawa West, Abdullahi Adamu, immediate past Governor of the state and Senator representing Nasarawa South, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura and the senator representing Nasarawa North, Godiya Akwashiki.

Others include the Emir of Lafia, Justice Dauda Sidi Barge as well as members of the house of representatives and state house of assembly among other party chieftains.
