Man United will now be relying on a number of Group H permutations to book a place in the knockout round of the Champions League following their huge 3-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain at Old Trafford.

United, who topped the pool ahead of the Wednesday night, December 2, clash were in search of just a point against PSG to confirm their place in the round of 16 of the European competition.

However, a second half collapse in the second half of the fixture saw the Red Devils suffer a 3-1 loss, with Neymar emerging match hero with a brace.

With the three sides now locked on nine points, only two can progress to the last 16 ahead of the last round of the fixtures.

PSG already have a better head-to-head record against both United and Leipzig – meaning they will be through with a home victory over Istanbul Basaksehir next week.

As such, the Red Devils and Leipzig will be left to battle it out for the only remaining place.

Man United hammered Leipzig 5-0 in their reverse tie played at Old Trafford – meaning a draw at Germany would be enough to earn them a place in the next round.

But should they lose to Leipzig and PSG win or draw against Basaksehir, the Old Trafford dwellers will be relegated to Europa League.
