Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has proven to worth every penny on his new deal signed at Arsenal after singlehandedly lifting the club into the top half of the Premier League table last term.

The Gunners finished in eighth position with 56 points after enduring a difficult 2019-20 season under two managers.

However, if the Gabonese striker was not present in Mikel Arteta’s squad last season, they would have struggled to survive from the drop.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker scored 22 goals last campaign losing the Golden Boot award to Jamie Vardy who bettered his tally with only one strike.

Arsenal would have dropped 20 points and finishing just two points above the relegation zone in 16th, according to compare.bet.

Aubameyang scored a brace in their 3-2 wins against Everton and Watford which gave them six priceless points.

He even grabbed three match-winners in three games during the 1-0 win over Newcastle, the 3-2 victory against Burnley and Aston Villa respectively adding another nine points.

Aubameyang also found the back of the net in eight Premier League draws for Arsenal adding another eight points to his credit.

These key points gave the Gunners the cutting edge on the league table and would have finished just one-point above Villa who ended their campiagn in 17th place.

Relegated Bournemouth and Watford only managed to record 34 points, just two points fewer than an Aubameyang-less Arsenal.

And it has become the major reason Arsenal gave him a ew deal reported to be more than Mesut Ozil’s £350,000-a-week.
