Arsenal could be without up to five players when they host Leicester City at the Emirates on Sunday, October 25 as Willian and Martinelli could be affected.

The Gunners will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League having suffered a slim 1-0 defeat to Man City in their last fixture in the top-flight.

However, they may have to do that without the services of a number of key players who are thought to be battling varying degrees of injuries.

Summer signing Willian headline the list of stars who are likely to miss the Leicester fixture, with Mirror UK reporting he is nursing a calf problem.

The Brazilian has been a mainstay figure in Mikel Arteta’s team set up, playing an integral part in the Gunners’ blistering start to the season.

However, it was gathered that he is due to undergo a late assessment to determine if he can face the Foxes.

Gabriel Martinelli is the other attacking player who will be unavailable, having missed the better part of the new campaign with a knee problem.

In defence, Rob Holding is sure to miss the clash after he reportedly injured himself during the warm-up last weekend.

But his absence will not trouble Arteta as much, given he has both Gabriel Magalhaes and David Luiz to select from in central defence.

The pair of Pablo Mari and Calum Chambers are long-term absentees and are understood to be working their way to full fitness from injuries they suffered last season.

The Gunners will be looking to build on their 2-1 win over Rapid Wien during midweek in the Europa League.

Victory over Leicester will be enough to fire the north London side to fourth place as they currently sit eighth with nine points.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Arsene Wenger has revealed he turned down chances to manage Champions League teams due to his loyalty to Arsenal.

The 71-year-old managed the Gunners for over two decades before parting ways with them in the summer of 2018.

Despite winning three Premier Leagues and seven FA Cups, the Frenchman failed to win a European title for them.
