Udinese coach Luca Gotti says he would like his side to break their recent winless streak. “Having not won in the second half of the season is weighing on us.”
The Zebrette have yet to record a victory since the season entered its second half, with their last victory in Serie A coming against Sassuolo six weeks ago, and Gotti says he wants to end the run.
“We came home from Bologna with regrets at not having secured the win. Not winning in the second half of this season is weighing on us,” Gotti told Udinese official TV channel.
Udinese welcome Fiorentina to the Dacia Arena tomorrow, with kick off at 17:00 GMT, and Gotti says the Viola’s January transfer window reflects their ambitions.
“They are a team of great quality. The January transfer market has confirmed that the owner wants the club to return to past glories.
“It will be a complicated game, against a side who are attentive to the defensive aspect of the game. We will have to face the match with caution.”
Udinese’s game against Fiorentina will be held behind closed doors due to the Coronavirus, so how does Gotti think it will affect the team?
“I think the contribution of the fans at the stadium is always a positive component. Winning points at home are different from those won away from home.
“But tomorrow it will be an anomaly. We will have to put together all of our skill to find the motivation within ourselves and face an unusual situation.
