Former Real Madrid star Fabio Coentrao has branded Portuguese teammate Cristiano Ronaldo a monster who was ‘born with natural talent’.

The 35-year-old has just eight goals to overtake Iran legend Ali Daei as the player with most international goals for their national team.

However, with several individual and collective titles – including the five Ballon d’Or awards he has in his cabinet, the winger is not showing any signs of slowing down.

Having shared the dressing room with the player at the club and national team levels, Coentrao claims without a doubt that Ronaldo is the best player on the planet as reported by Goal quoting O Jogo.

“I often wish other people could have had the chance to work with him to see up close what he is like.

Coentrao won two Champions League at Real Madrid as compared to the four that Ronaldo won at the same club but the defender is proud of his achievements at the Santiago Bernabeu. He said:

“I had to go to other clubs to show my work and then I arrived at Real Madrid, the best club in the world. But, that’s not for everyone.

“I was there for seven years, with a contract that was renewed in the middle of that time. I won 15 or more titles there. That speaks for itself and it’s a matter of pride.”

Coentrao is now running down his career back in Portugal, with an emotional return to his roots made at Rio Ave.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Portugal to a 3-2 win over Croatia on Tuesday, November 17, and the victory means the team captain is closing in on Sergio Ramos’ record of all-time record of international wins.

The 35-year-old has now surpassed Xavi to become third on the standings just behind Spanish stars Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos in the top spot.

Xavi who remains a Barcelona legend drops to fourth position and ahead of his former Barcelona partner Andres Iniesta, who rounds off the top five with 96 victories on his personal record.
