Miralem Pjanic has lashed out at former boss Maurizio Sarri over his inability to trust his players during his reign at Juventus.

The Italian boss was fired after just one season in charge of the Old Lady despite helping them win the Serie A title. He lost the finals of the Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup last season.

He was replaced with Andrea Pirlo after French League outfit Lyon dumped them out of the Champions League in the second round.

Pjanic according to Football Italia said the former Chelsea handler doubted the professionalism of his men while in charge of the club.

Juve chief Andrea Agnelli was quoted sying there was no chemistry between Sarri and the squad and that was why they sacked him but Pjanic told Tuttosport how bad the situation was:

“What still disappoints me to this day is that Sarri didn’t trust his men and that disturbed me.

“The way he misjudged people remains the worst aspect, because every player in that locker room has always and will always give their all for the club and team.

“You might not get along with one or two, but that has never affected our efforts, because every player wants to win, because they are incredible professionals who want to pursue their objective.

“So, if a coach puts that into doubt, it means you don’t have that alchemy that the President talked about.”

This implies that Sarri actively believed some of the Juventus players in the squad were working against him and not giving 100 percent.

“Nobody is doubting Sarri’s qualities as a coach, but there was this problem,” added Pjanic. At the end of the day, we still brought home another Scudetto, which must never be taken for granted.”

Legit.ng earlier reported that Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has recounted how special facing Cristiano Ronaldo was while at Real Madrid.

Both stars have a chance to face-off again for the first time since the Portuguese left Los Blancos as the Catalans battle Juventus in the second Champions League group game this season.

However, the Portugal international might not be a part of the crucial encounter as he is currently in isolation after testing positive for coronavirus for the second time.
