Maurizio Sarri is reportedly in talks with Lazio shortly after former boss Simone Inzaghi left the club to join Inter Milan, Daily Mail.

The 62-year-old has been out of work for a year after being sacked as Juventus boss despite winning the Serie A title in 2091-20 season.

According to Italian news media outlet Calciomercato, the former Chelsea boss is being wooed by the Serie A club to become their new manager.

Lazio are also willing to keep their players ahead of next season in a bid to persuade the former Napoli boss to manage the affairs of the club.

Sarri was compensated by Juventus with £5million after being sacked and another £2m because Juve chose not to extend his contract.

Lazio are willing to offer the Italian gaffer £2.5m engagement plus bonuses as the club wants to be competitive in Serie A next season.

Former Wolves manager Nuno Espirit Santo has also been liked with the vacant position at the Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio finished in sixth position and will challenge in next season’s Europa League after a disappointing 2020-21 campaign.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Simone Inzaghi has been announced as new Inter Milan boss following the resignation of Antonio Conte a few days ago, Daily Mail, Twitter.

Conte who wrestled off the Scudetto from Juventus at the just concluded season will have his former international teammate Inzaghi as his successor.

Inzaghi spent five years as Lazio manager and returned a series of brilliant performances with Rome based club. The 45-year-old has penned a two-year deal with the San Siro outfit.

Legit.ng also revealed that Antonio Conte is advanced talks with Premier League club Tottenham as he looks to become their new manager, Daily Mail.

Spurs have been without a boss since the sacking of Jose Mourinho and former player Curtis Davies took over as caretaker coach.

On the other hand, Conte resigned barely days after winning the Scudetto with Inter following disagreement with club president Steven Zhang.
