Paulo Fonseca saw a “tired” Roma in their 2-0 defeat to Parma, and feels his team need the international break to recuperate.
The Giallorossi lost 2-0 at the Stadio Tardini this evening, and Fonseca believes the defeat was due to fatigue from their Europa League clash on Thursday against Borussia Monchengladbach.
“The team is tired at the moment and we have seen it, it is not a question of attitude, but right now we are not fast and responsive. The break will be useful. Parma are always dangerous on the counter attack, and they created several chances because we took risks,” Fonseca told Sky Sport Italia.
“We wanted to win and we gave up space, defensively we were poor in the second half, though even in the first half we had problems.”
Edin Dzeko is going through a bit of a dry spell in front of goal, with the Bosnian only scoring once in two months.
“It’s a coincidence. You must not only look at the goals, but his overall contribution to the team.”
