Arkansas’ first influenza-related death of the 2019-2020 flu season has been reported, according to the state department of health.This comes as 482 positive flu tests have been reported across the state since September 29.Each year about 25-30 million flu cases are reported around the U.S. and more than 200,000 people end up in the hospital because of it.The ADH has been distributing the flu vaccine in schools over the next couple of months. Kids can get their vaccination in school as long as a parent completes the proper permission form.Doctors say the best way to avoid the flu is with the vaccine. The most vulnerable people are children under the age of 6 months and adults over 65.
