A well travelled flight attendant has spoken of how risqué passengers are raising the saucy levels even higher with a new way to join the mile high club.

Almost as soon as humans found a way to rise up above the Earth they decided to incorporate sex into the equation.

The first example of what might be considered an entrance into the mile high club is recorded in a betting book for London gentleman’s club Brook’s.

The 1785 entry came two years after the first successful balloon ride and recalled how Lord Cholmondeley had been bet 500 guineas by Lord Derby to have sex 1,000 yards from the ground.

Oswald Boelcke called dibs on the first pilot to take a nurse up in his fighter plane, although some aviation enthusiasts doubt the logistics of two people sharing a small cockpit.

The classic mile high club formula has been ditched in favour of a more public display of affection

Some saucy passengers try to carry out the deed without cabin crew noticing

Since the advent of affordable commercial flights in the latter half of the 20th century however, air travellers have been getting their money’s worth.

Now veteran crew member Heather Poole has spoken of an alarming new trend sweeping the world’s cabins.

“One thing I’ve noticed is that more and more mile-high members are avoiding the bathroom altogether, preferring to do the deed in their seat,” she wrote in her book Cruising Attitude.

“They’ll use a blanket to cover up, giggling and wiggling in the process, making a big public spectacle of themselves.

“As soon as one of us is clued in to what might be going on, we’ll spread the word and each take turns slowly passing by their seat as we investigate the matter further.”
