Flamengo have confirmed their interest in signing Italy striker Mario Balotelli. “He’s a great player and we’ve been in contact.”
When asked about the free agent, the club’s President Rodolfo Landim told UOL: “He’s a great player and we’ve been in contact.
“He’s shown interest in playing for Flamengo, but nothing’s been decided yet.
“He’s a great player, but a lot of water still needs to run under that bridge.”
The 29-year-old would be the second high-profile Italian to join a South American team this summer after Daniele De Rossi moved to Boca Juniors.
