Franck Ribery has undergone ankle surgery and Fiorentina confirm he is expected to be back in action “in circa 10 weeks.”
The veteran had been suffering from a badly sprained ankle, which had led to some ligament damage.
After a check-up, it was confirmed he would benefit from a minor operation to stabilise the ankle and that was performed today in Germany by Professor Johannes Gabel.
The club released a statement this afternoon announcing the operation was a success and Ribery will return to Florence tomorrow to begin rehabilitation.
“The return to normal activity will be in circa 10 weeks.”
This may well mean a return to training, so it is safe to assume he won’t be able to play again for closer to 12 weeks.
