The Go-Go’s are back on tour and announced U.S. tour dates for 2021/2022.

In anticipation of the trailblazing band’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this October, the Go-Go’s announced today they will be back on the road and for fans of the new wave/punk/pop rockers, this is fantastic news!
Rooted in the early L.A. punk scene, Belinda Carlisle (lead vocals), Charlotte Caffey (lead guitar, keyboards, vocals), Gina Schock (drums, percussion, vocals), Kathy Valentine (bass guitar, vocals) and Jane Wiedlin (rhythm guitar, vocals) broke barriers and made history as they rose to fame in the early 1980s.
“We really missed seeing and playing for our fans and we are happy we can experience and enjoy live music with each other once again. We are looking forward to celebrating and bringing in a brighter new year with everyone,” said the band in a joint statement.
“With concerts finally making a very welcomed return, longtime fans can celebrate with the newest inductees to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the new generation of fans can see the band that they discovered through the documentary,” added band manager, Art Cisneros.
In 1982, the Los Angeles rock band topped the Billboard album chart which was a first – and is still an unequalled feat – for an all-female band. The Go-Go’s would go on to make history as the first multi-platinum-selling, all-female band to play their own instruments, write their own songs and soar to No. 1 on the album charts and they remain the most successful female rock band of all time.
The album in question was their 1981 debut Beauty and the Beat which included the two of the band’s three biggest Hot 100 hits, “Our Lips Are Sealed” and “We Got the Beat.” The album reached No. 1 where it sat atop the Billboard charts for six consecutive weeks. At the time, it went on to sell more than two million copies and became one of the most successful debut albums of all time. This early success led to a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and they soon became a global phenomenon and blazed brand-new trails in music for women.
The ladies formed the band in 1978 and their entertaining videos, unique style and infectious songs with huge hooks made them an immediate standout with additional hits like “Vacation” and “Head Over Heels” and millions of records have been sold worldwide over the decades.
The band would break up in 1985 but the gang would reunite in the 1990s and beyond to record new music and tour. In 2011, they received a very well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and there was even a musical entitled “Head Over Heels” which ran on Broadway from 2018 to 2019.
And, in 2020, the band released the Alison Ellwood directed documentary THE GO-GO’S, which first premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews, achieving a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and the doc won a 2020 Critics Choice Award for “Best Music Documentary” in addition to receiving the honor of “Most Compelling Living Subjects in a Documentary.” The film captures them working on an early version of their first new recording in nearly 20 years, “Club Zero,” which hit the Top 10 on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart upon its release.
Their upcoming tour will span across North America and the West Coast and tickets will go on sale Friday, June 25 at 10:00 a.m. PST. There will be intimate shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego, and the tour also includes New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day performances at The Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas.
