Families on a Ryanair jet were left ‘terrified’ by more than 30 ‘drunk’ men on a stag do who abused staff and passengers and tried to get off the plane during the flight from the Scottish capital to Ibiza.
Passengers on the flight to the popular party island have described their ‘nightmare’ as the rowdy group engaged in drunken and disruptive behaviour throughout the entire duration of the three hour and five minute flight to Ibiza.
One woman, on board last Wednesday’s flight FR6605 from Edinburgh, told the Mail Online the first signs of what was to come were visible at the gate.

She described a group of men who ranged in age from their twenties to fifties, loudly queuing to board and exhibiting ‘staggeringly bad’ behaviour.
‘They were pretty loud, obviously drunk, or under the influence of alcohol,’ she said. ‘Even before they boarded and even as the plane taxied out they were being told to sit down.
‘They were shouting and screaming and being abusive before we even left the terminal.’

And as the flight got underway, the woman said the men, most of who were dressed in black shirts with an image of the stag and his bride-to-be’s face over his genitals, get even rowdier.
‘The main perpetrator was calling him [a cabin crew member] a nonce and other stuff like that really loudly,’ she said. ‘The kids there were frightened, there was a young boy cowering who wouldn’t go into the toilet.
‘It was all pretty scary.’
The woman, a professional who works in Edinburgh, said being in high-spirits was one thing, but she said the men’s behaviour was ‘intimidating’.
‘One of them in particular was particularly intimidating. He was shouting and screaming, being homophobic and being verbally abusive to the cabin crew.’
While the woman passenger said she doubted he would have truly tried to get off, the man appeared to be banging on the sides of the plane shouting; ‘I want to get off!’.
‘The poor guy had to put his [drink] trolley at the bottom of the aisle,’
She said the man’s behaviour, ‘in the world we live in, scared everybody’ and most of the other passengers were fearful of doing anything to exacerbate the situation.
The woman said the group, did not let up being disruptive throughout the whole flight.
‘I’m not easily frightened, but I was on the flight for three hours, three hours of shouting and screaming.’
The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, said the staff on board were clearly upset, but managed the rowdy group well considering.
‘They were absolutely tolerant, firm and without taking the bait of what was quite frankly abuse.’

Other passengers took to social media to describe their ordeal. One woman on Twitter said the group were ‘totally out of control’ even before the flight took off.
‘Refusing to sit down, loud, drunk, swearing etc,’ she tweeted. ‘Hit its peak half way during the flight, the poor staff could not keep control.’
Another woman tweeted her kudos to the Ryanair staff for their efforts to control the rowdy group of men.
‘Well done cabin crew who had to deal with 30 idiots on a stag from Edinburgh-Ibiza.’
Meanwhile, the Mirror reported, a nine-year-old boy was reduced to tears on the Ryanair flight by the stag group’s ‘aggressive’ and ‘intimidating’ behaviour.
The mother of the boy, who wished to remain anonymous, said her son was left in tears.
‘He was terrified and wondering what these big men would do. Children shouldn’t have to sit through that, nobody should. A couple of elderly people were visibly shaking.
‘I’ve never been so disgusted and intimated in my life.’

She said at first the group appeared to just be having a good time, but as soon as they got on the plane it became obvious things were going to get rowdy.
‘The language being used was disgusting and disgraceful. There was no awareness of other passengers.’
Other passengers described one man bragging about taking d**k pics as he spilled drinks over other passengers, while another was seen to try sit in the lap of a female passenger.
The woman, who spoke to the Mail Online, said when the plane landed police were at the gate and the passengers were told to remain seated.
‘He said; ‘I’m getting off’ and went flying down the steps not realising the police were there and then they whisked him off.’
But she said, as they went to gather their luggage it appeared the man had been released and was with the rest of his friends.
She couldn’t fault the airline staff for their response.
‘Ryanair dealt with it very well, no body should be put up with that abuse in their working environment.’
