Nigerian singer, D’banj, recently talked about industrialization in Africa and also about how his generation was able to take Nigerian entertainment to the next level.

Real name Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, the talented singer and entertainer in an interview with Adesope Olajide, talked about the industrialization of the country and Africa at large and how youth participation is important for it to succeed.

Using the growth of the music industry as an example, the Koko master talked about how he and others were advised against returning to Nigeria due to the high rate of piracy and lack of structure in the industry.

“We decided to go (return to Nigeria) and in the unstructured structure, in the piracy, today, Nigerian entertainment is the focus of entertainment in Africa.” he said.

The singer opined that for every sector of the economy, it is important for Africans to understand that there is a need to take care of their own as charity begins at home.

“We have to like our things, like our agriculture. Once we know – information is power – then we know how to attack it (the problem)”

D’banj also talked about attending an event where he was wowed by quality made-in-Nigeria products that were on display.

“Everything for me from music to the rest, everything for Africa is becoming green, is becoming so good and I’m proud that it is our generation and we are here right now, he added.”

Still on D’banj, he recently openly declared his religious stance. The popular singer opened up about being born again. During a recent Christian concert in Abuja, Dbanj got on stage and explained how he had actually given his life to Christ.

According to the Koko Master, whenever he says Jesus is the conqueror, he means it. Speaking further, Dbanj said that if anyone was aware of his story, they would notice that he always gave honour to God in all his albums.
