The Ekiti State Government has confirmed a fresh suspected case of Coronavirus with a 23-year-old male victim manifesting some symptoms synonymous to the pandemic.
The Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Mojisola Yaya-Kolade, who disclosed while briefing journalist in Ado-Ekiti, on Thursday, said the victim’s sample has been obtained for the necessary tests.
She added that the suspected case had been quarantine pending the outcome of the test result.
“We have another suspected COVID-19 case, which is currently quarantined, pending the availability of his test result.
“Ekiti State has one discharged case, one positive case and one suspected case as at today, April 2, 2020”.
Yaya-kolade added that the confirmed case was clinically stable at the designated isolation centre in Ado-Ekiti.

She said a 42-year-old Ekiti indigene was suspected to have been infected while on official assignment at Lagos Airport in the last 14 days.
The Commissioner noted that he had been admitted into the isolation center while the medical and environmental team will be going around to disinfect his abode as soon as possible.
She, however, enjoined all residents to comply with government’s stay-at-home directives and observe the necessary precautionary measures to mitigate against the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
