The special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on political matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, has accused Governor Kayode Fayemi of planning to impose a ‘houseboy’ as his successor in Ekiti state.
Ojudu made the comment on Friday, February 19 while revalidating his membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at his Ereguru unit, Ward 8 in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
The veteran journalist who represented Ekiti central senatorial district from 2011 to 2015, has been at loggerheads with Governor Fayemi.
Both men are said to be fighting for the soul of the party in the state ahead of the governorship election in 2022.
Governor Fayemi is yet to respond to the comment of his political rival.

There are also insinuations that Ojudu is interested in becoming the governor of the state, hence his disagreement with the governor.
Nigerian Tribune quoted him as saying:
“I can assure you that there will be no imposition. Anybody who is a member of our party would be free to contest the primary. We will allow a democratic process to take place. But we don’t want somebody who is a stranger or a houseboy in our party to be imposed as governor.”
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s former chief of army staff Lieutenant-General Azubuike Ihejirika (rtd) on Tuesday, February 16 officially defected to the APC.
Ihejirika was Nigeria’s army chief between 2010 to 2014 under former President Goodluck Jonathan. The former army chief announced his decision to join the APC at his Isuikwuato country home in Abia-North senatorial district in Abia state.
Recall that the Ebonyi state governor, Dave Umahi, recently declared that everyone in the southeast wants to join the APC.
The governor made the comment on Wednesday, February 10 when he visited the APC secretariat in Abuja to meet with the caretaker committee chairman of the party and Yobe state governor, Mai Bala Buni.
