The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Sunday condemned the delay of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in announcing electoral results of the remaining two local government areas in Edo State.

PDP described as unacceptable the delay by INEC in announcing the remaining results.

In a tweet on its verified Twitter handle, the ruling party vowed to reject any attempt to declare Saturday’s governorship election as inconclusive.

According to PDP: “#EdoDecides2020: Alert-The delay in the announcement of the remaining two LGAs by @inecnigeria is totally unacceptable.

“The Edo Guber Election is concluded. We, therefore, reject any attempt to declare the election inconclusive. #EdoNoBeLagos #ReleaseOrhionmwonResult.”

Results so far announced by INEC shows that the State Governor and PDP’s governorship candidate, Godwin Obaseki is currently leading his closest rival Pastor Osagier Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
