Ed Sheeran plans to build an outdoor kitchen complete with two BBQs and massive pizza oven outside his county pub at his £1.5million sprawling estate.

The 28-year-old popstar’s team has asked his local council for permission to install a dining area in his garden.

If it gets the go-ahead, the entertainment area will have a York stone bar, two BBQs and a 1.4m high terracotta chimney pizza oven – big enough to cook three pizzas at once.

Complete with decking and an outdoor seating area, the chic garden party area will sit next to his drinking den, The Lancaster Lock.

It comes just weeks after the Shape of You star won a battle to keep a 16ft pub sign he’d installed on the pub, named after his wife.

The latest planning permission request from Mr Sheeran (pictured) comes just weeks after the Shape of You star won a battle to keep a 16ft pub sign he’d installed on the pub, named after his wife

Planning documents submitted to East Suffolk Council explain how Ed hopes the proposed area will ‘enhance the enjoyment’ of his Grade-II listed home, in Suffolk.

Ben Elvin Planning Consultancy has submitted the application on the popstar’s behalf.

Planning documents say: ‘The proposal seeks planning permission for the installation of decking, outdoor seating and the installation of a pizza oven and two BBQs.

‘These works are proposed to an area to the immediate north of the barn, between the barn and the dwelling.

‘It is not in the applicant’s interests to carry out works that detract from the special character of these buildings, as to do so would detract from their enjoyment of the site and the very reason that they have been prepared to invest in it in the manner that they have.’

If built, the outdoor kitchen will be one step up from a new patio decking area and will come with a bar area and enough room to seat several guests.

Complete with decking and an outdoor seating area, the chic garden party area will sit next to his drinking den, The Lancaster Lock.

According to documents from his garden planner, there will be a butler sink in the bar, with a fridge and storage cupboard underneath.

The plans added: ‘The rear of the units on the path side is clad in black boarding to match the barn whilst red brick plinths support the work surface.

‘A shelf near the pizza oven to the path side of the work surface has a strip light to help with food preparation.

‘Electrical sockets are set within the units and beneath the bar.

‘Brick clad pizza oven with a 1400mm high terracotta chimney.

‘The internal dimension of the oven is 1000mm diameter – large enough for cooking 3 pizzas at one time.

‘It is set on a 40mm thick sawn York stone surface and is supported by 860mm high brick walls to match the barn. Wood is stored beneath the oven.

‘A small band of planting between the deck and pizza oven provides texture and softens the overall feel of the oven.’

The application was made for the outdoor kitchen last week, and planners are expected to decide whether to permit or reject the plans in the coming months.

Last year Ed was denied planning permission for a private wedding chapel in the grounds of his home.

He had hoped to marry fiancee, Cherry, in the custom-built Saxon-style round tower at his country estate.

But planning officials said the structure would cause ‘unsatisfactory visual impacts’ and create ‘the impression of a second village church’.

And in April this year, he was ordered to knock down a sauna he built beside his wildlife pond.
