The Philadelphia 76ers will head into a winner take all Game 7 with the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday looking for their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 2001 when Allen Iverson led the team to the NBA Finals.

As they were getting set to head into this one, big man Joel Embiid was fined $35,000 after getting into an altercation with John Collins in Game 6. The NBA said it was due to Embiid escalating the situation and after the news came out about the fine, coach Doc Rivers almost expected the punishment from the league.

“It is what it is,” said Rivers. “Not much of a reaction. I just hope the money goes to a Philadelphia charity.”

Embiid and the Sixers will have to be locked in as they head into this Game 7. They have a big opportunity on their home floor to get a win and head to their first Eastern Conference Finals in 20 years. They cannot waste an opportunity to get it done at home.

“I think they understand that Game 7 is win or go home,” Rivers stated. “I think they understand that pressure, but I don’t think any of them are looking at the history of them.”

Philadelphia and Atlanta will tip off at 8:00 p.m. EDT from the Wells Fargo Center.
