Roberto D’Aversa expressed his admiration for Roma and their coach Paulo Fonseca, but Parma will have to “read the game” in order to get a result.

It kicks off at 17.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.

Roberto Inglese and Yann Karamoh are out of action, but Andreas Cornelius is fit to start after his thigh strain, while Bruno Alves is at least ready for a spot on the bench.

“Roma have a lot of quality players, as you can see because they are third in the table despite their injury crisis,” said the Parma boss in his press conference.

“It is very important that we play with intensity and determination. They are strong on set plays because of so many tall figures and I will take physicality into account when choosing my line-up. Winning individual duels is going to be crucial, as well as preventative marking.

“Fonseca is an excellent coach and he gets his teams playing good football, as they can attack both down the wings with crosses, but also with quick passes in the final third. Edin Dzeko attacks space and holds the ball up. When Gianluca Mancini goes deeper, he is replaced in that slot by Javier Pastore.

“There are moments where we’ll press Roma high, and others where we’ll invite them forward. It’s all about reading the game and knowing the right time to stick or twist.”

Parma squad for Roma: Alastra, Colombi, Sepe; Bruno Alves, Darmian, Dermaku, Gagliolo, Iacoponi, Laurini, Pezzella; Barillà, Brugman, Camara, Hernani, Kucka, Kulusevski, Scozzarella; Adorante, Cornelius, Gervinho, Sprocati
