A father raped an 11-year-old girl three times after grabbing her as she walked through a park on her way to school.

Brett David Hill, 49, from New South Wales, Australia, terrified the child with a pair a scissors after bundling her into his car at around 9.15am on June 12 last year.

He abused the youngster at three different locations before dumping her at a railway station in Newcastle, Australia, bringing an end to the victim’s five-hour ordeal.

Hill was caught four days later after a huge manhunt – and has now pleaded guilty to nine charges.

Hill was described as a ‘nomad’ by police

Yahoo News reports that Hill was due to face trial but will now go straight to sentencing on December 17, following his confessions.

The coward refused to look his victim’s parents in the eye when he appeared in court, however the girl’s father said ‘enjoy prison mate’ to him as he was led away to the cells.

Hill, who faces a maximum of 20 years in jail, was described as a ‘nomad’ by police, The New Daily reports.

Newcastle Superintendent Brett Greentree told the Newcastle Herald: “This is a crime that has sent shivers down the spine of every Novocastrian.”

Detective Superintendent John Kerlatec added that identification of the suspect’s vehicle was a key tip that led to his arrest.

He said: “It is remarkable, the strength of this girl, supported by her friends and family, supported by counsellors, but she has stood up.

“She’s worked with us. Her family and friends have worked with us and she’ll get on with her life.

“This brave little girl is certainly a hero, and the courage that she has displayed is heroism.”
