The sacking of some aides by the speaker of Lagos state House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has triggered reactions among members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Guardian reports that some members of the party expressed displeasure over the sudden termination of appointments of some aides by Obasa.
Bioreports gathered that the members, who preferred to be anoymous, described Obasa’s action as unfair, adding that it could lead to depression in the affected aides, especially during this period of economic crises.

The report had that Obasa had on Tuesday, January 12, terminated the appointment of four of his aides, including his chief of staff and his chief press secretary.
The affected aides were the chief of staff, Saka Fafunmi; chief press secretary, Tolani Abati; the special adviser on political affairs, Dayo Famakinwa, and the special adviser on research, Oladimeji Oriyomi.
Speaking on the CSP sacking, the newspaper reported that the party members were also unhappy over Abati’s dismissal without reason other than the usual statement that his service was no longer needed.

The speaker’s grouse against Abati is said to be the CPS’s poor handling of the media, as he could not stop negative press against his principal.
Meanwhile, Bioreports had previously reported that the Lagos speaker Obasa said the state was “hit below the belt” by the violence that escalated from the recent EndSARS protests.
It was reported that Obasa added that the state would have to contend with the effects of COVID-19 and the violence on its economy as it matches into 2021.
Sanwo-Olu had christened the 2021 estimate a “Budget of Rekindled Hope”, adding that it is aimed at rebuilding the state following the devastation it suffered and its effect on the economy.
Obasa noted that he and his colleagues would continue to support the freedom of expression as well as be willing to interact with everyone in the state including youths.
