The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has warned Nigerians that failure to adhere to the eased lockdown guidelines may result to a review or complete change.

PTF’s National Coordinator, Dr. Sani Aliyu, stated this during the daily briefing on Thursday.

“Our modelling shows that the positive effects of full compliance with the Eased lockdown will be very similar to the effect of a full lockdown. This is why we need everyone to fully comply with all the guidelines issued.

“Please respect and follow all the guidelines we have instituted. If we continue to see violations of these guidelines, we will be pushed to review and possibly change them,” Aliyu said.

Following the relaxation of a five-week lockdown on Monday, May 4, there have been rowdy scenes especially at banks and other financial institutions.

Customers in Lagos and Abuja, have been seen violating the set guidelines, which includes social distancing and use of face masks at public places.
