Following an article on July 18 about Britain’s biggest privately run care homes, we are happy to clarify that Dermot Desmond, JP McManus and John Magnier, Barchester Healthcare’s long-term investors for over 20 years, have at all times acted in good faith in respect of Barchester’s business. We have also been asked to point out that, since the Company’s debt has been provided predominantly by its major shareholders rather than banks, the future of Barchester Healthcare is not ‘uncertain’ as our article may have implied.
