Brescia boss Eugenio Corini has hit out at talk that he could be sacked, accusing the Press of short memories.
However, the former Palermo midfielder is confident his players have moved on from the defeat.
“After last week’s game, I noticed a lot of things. I’d like to close that chapter,” he said at a Press conference for tomorrow’s Serie A fixture against Udinese.
“After Dessena’s red, six decisive minutes passed. There were various things that penalised us, but I wouldn’t want everyone to forget about the year of work we did together, plus the three points we picked up in our first three Serie A games and how were leading Bologna for 50 minutes.
“It was just a bad defeat. The following morning, we came out with the right attitude, while keeping our nerve.
“I was disappointed with some of what had been said in the last few days. There are those who want to exploit certain things, but for me it’s friendly fire, whereas what I say has logic.
“You must respect what I say and the way I say things. I talk to the President and that’s important for me.
“I take note of the various things that are said and it’s all good. We must only think about tomorrow. After that, what will come later will be built later.
“Dessena’s a clean player. Unfortunately, what happened with him happened and we’ll be without him.
“I have two options to replace him, not just Zmrhal. You’ll see who I go with tomorrow. Udinese are a physical team who played well at San Siro against Inter and deserved to beat Parma, given how they managed to fill the pitch.
“They’re good at set-pieces, but we’ve worked to counter their strong points.”
