The Cleveland Browns recently concluded an impressive 2020 campaign as they finally ended an 18-year playoff drought with an 11-5 record in the regular season. After an admirable performance from the squad, head coach Kevin Stefanski and his men will certainly aim to get better results and have another playoff appearance in the coming season.

A good combination of the team’s core players along with a handful of under-the-radar talents would help power Cleveland for a strong postseason run that they’ve been wanting to achieve over the past years. On the Browns’ roster, a couple of 2020 draftees are looking to make their presence known and have a bigger contribution on the field next season.

Here are two hidden gems that make an impact for the Browns in 2021:

1. Harrison Bryant

It is evident that the Browns have no shortage in offensive weapons and they have certainly found a gem in tight end Harrison Bryant. Despite being selected as the 115th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Florida Atlantic product was still able to carve a role within the team’s loaded offense.

Moreover, playing alongside capable tight ends in David Njoku and Austin Hooper didn’t hinder Bryant from making a name for himself in his rookie campaign at all. He started nine of 15 total games played for the Browns and recorded a total of 238 receiving yards on 24 receptions along with three touchdowns.

The numbers that he produced in his first year in the pros were enough to land him a spot in the All-Rookie Team in 2020. Fortunately for Bryant, the Browns didn’t make significant additions to the offensive unit during the offseason which meant that he can still get more opportunities next season.

With a year of experience under his belt, Bryant is expected to get even better and provide more depth in the tight ends room. His improvement both as a catcher and a pass blocker will definitely become vital for quarterback Baker Mayfield as he will be needing all the help that he can get in order to lift the Browns to greater heights next season.

2. Grant Delpit

Safety Grant Delpit had an accomplished career in his three-year stint with the LSU Tigers in the collegiate ranks. Known for earning the Jim Thorpe Award in 2019, he was eventually picked with the 44th pick by the Browns in the 2020 NFL Draft. His impressive performance after serving as one of the standout players of a loaded Tigers squad led the Browns to have high hopes for him heading to the 2020 season.

Delpit was poised to have a starter role with Cleveland but he eventually suffered a torn Achilles injury in training camp which abruptly ended his rookie season. His absence throughout their 2020 campaign eventually gave more opportunities for Karl Joseph, Andrew Sendejo, and Ronnie Harrison to man the safety position.

Though the group performed well in 2020, they can still improve even more once they get to welcome Delpit back on the field next season. Almost a year after his injury, he is now cleared to return and finally enter his debut campaign in the pros. Though he has yet to see action in an NFL game, many are already expecting him to have an immediate impact on the Browns’ secondary next season.

Despite the setback that Grant Delpit previously encountered, the Browns remain confident in his abilities to shore up their defensive rotation and make a valuable contribution in 2021.
