Some of the UK’s top firework companies descended on Yorkshire to show off their wares and compete against each other in a breathtaking spectacle last weekend.
Held on Saturday, July 20 in the grounds of the Grade I listed Newby Hall, the Fireworks Champions 2019 event saw teams of professional fireworks companies put on astonishing displays to thrill the crowds.
The event also gives the crowd the chance to learn more about the industry and put their burning questions to experts.
The teams on show used category four fireworks, the biggest available in the UK, as they battled to become the best in Britain.
Thousands of people turned up to watch and they were wowed by a series of spectacular fireworks displays.
The professionals put on a fireworks show, with each incredible display choreographed to music, creating a party atmosphere.

Thousands watched the scarcely-believable displays, with the music giving the entire event in Yorkshire a party-like atmosphere
The event also gives the crowd the chance to learn more about the fireworks industry and put their burning questions to the experts present
It was a fun day out for all the family with the gates opening for the audience at 4pm and the on-site entertainment kicking off at around 5pm
The crowds were able to chat with the display teams and learn more about the fireworks before the main event got under way
The spectacular fireworks displays kicked off at 9.15 with a demo at 9.15 before the first competitors lit up the sky at 9.30pm
One of the companies on display was PYRO 2000. The firm has been competing and creating spectacular displays for over 30 years
PYRO 2000 are a well-known name in the industry and their clients include the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo festival
PYRO 2000 also have an impressive trophy cabinet going back over 20 years including wins in Canada, Monaco and Lithuania
Illusion Fireworks, a company established in 2014 by husband and wife team Karl and Vicky Mitchell-Shead also wowed crowds over the weekend
Last year, the team picked up wins at the Firework Champions event at Stanford Hall, the British Firework Championships in Plymouth and put on a stunning display at the British Musical Firework Championships in Southport
Spectrum Fireworks also competed, they are a team of fireworks and SFX specialists, and have worked for some of the UK’s biggest companies
Spectrum Fireworks are well-regarded in the industry, creating mind-blowing displays for the BBC, Local Authorities and Audi
