Brighton vs Manchester City: Albion Come From 2 Goals Down to Beat EPL Champions at AMEX Stadium

– Man City suffered their sixth defeat of the season at the AMEX Stadium

– Pep Guardiola’s side squandered a two-goal lead and lost 3-2 at the end of the meeting

– The Citizens will now hope to bounce back to winning ways against Everton in their last game of the season

Premier League champions Manchester City were stunned at the AMEX Stadium after losing 3-2 to Brighton & Hove Albion in their penultimate league game of the season.

The Citizens got the game started on a blistering note with Ilkay Gundogan combining with Riyad Mahrez to give the visitors the lead just two minutes into the encounter.

Gundogan ran towards the left side of the post after spotting the Algerian dancing on the ball trying to dribble the opponent.

He got a chance to head home the opener after the winger delivered the ball into the midst of the crowd in the danger zone.

However, it was a nightmare for the Etihad Stadium outfit eight minutes later as Joao Cancelo was handed a straight red card after pulling Danny Welbeck down as the last man.

Regardless of the one-man deficit, Pep Guardiola’s men were able to contain their hosts as they kept the goal line at 1-0 by the end of the opening half.

The visitors started from where they stopped in the second half with Phil Foden finding the back of the net in the 48th minute. He ran with the ball from the centre half all the way into Brighton’s box before sending the ball into the net.

Leandro Trossard needed just 149 seconds to reduce his side’s deficit with a brilliant finish after tearing Man City’s defence apart in the 50th minute.

Adam Webster restored parity for the hosts in the 72nd minute while Daniel Burn’s 76th-minute effort ensured they came from two goals down to beat the champions as they remain about 12 points above the relegation zone.
