A man in the United States identified as Rikien Wilder has been rewarded with one year free subway rides after capturing a train derailment suspect in New York.
The disclosure was made on Wednesday, September 23, by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), CNN reports.
Legit.ng gathers that the interim president of New York City Transit, Sarah Feinberg, said capturing the suspect would save lives because such crime would not be repeated elsewhere.

According to Feinberg, the best way to thank Wilder for his heroism is a year of free unlimited subway rides.
MTA press release indicated that Wilder saw the suspect putting a debris on a track to cause a derailment and he immediately jumped onto the track to remove it before the arrival of the train.
The train arrived safely but the suspect succeeded in causing a derailment for another train as he performed the same act when Wilder went to notify MTA personnel over the first incident.
No passenger sustained injury and everyone of them disembarked safely.
As the suspect attempted to flee the scene, Wilder chased and captured him. He handed him over to the authorities when they arrived.
