Floyd Mayweather will likely make another sensational comeback in combat sports but the undefeated could be making his Mixed Martial Art (MMA) debut, The Sun.

The retired American boxer has confirmed that he would make an appearance at a show in Tokyo on February 28 in 2021

The show is an MMA event and it is unclear if the 43-year-old will be competing in the Octagon or in his comfortable squared-circle as a boxer.

talkSPORT boxing editor Michael Benson tweeted:

“Floyd Mayweather will return to the ring for a fight at Tokyo Dome on Feb 28th.

“Details scarce, but Floyd called into a presser to announce he would compete on same show as new MMA event ‘MEGA 2021’.”

The Money Man was set to make a return in 2020 in Asia by Sunsport but the coronavirus crisis slowed down the process of bringing the fighter back into the ring.

However, Mayweather announced to his 24 million followers on Instagram in the past week that his next fight will be holding in Tokyo.

“Tokyo, Japan. I am coming back in 2021.

“I know the Olympics is in Japan in 2021 but me, and my team will be doing something big in Tokyo Dome.

“Trust line, I want to say thank you for treating me good and treating my team good. Japan, I am on my way.”

The defensive boxer has a 50-0 professional record following his victory over UFC star Conor McGregor in 2017.

He also outclassed kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in an exhibition on New Year’s Eve in Tokyo in 2018.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Floyd Mayweather is still raking in money despite not throwing a punch after he won a bet with NFL club Green Bay Packers, The Sun.

The retired undefeated boxing champion won a £150,000 bet with a profit of £126,000 after the Packers defeat the San Francisco 49ers in a football game.

Mayweather watched the match at a pool party with waitresses dressed in revealing outfits at the Circa in Las Vegas.
