'Bosnia want to compete with Italy'

Miralem Pjanic, Rade Krunic and Edin Dzeko will all start for Bosnia-Herzegovina against Italy as CT Robert Prosinecki wants his side to show “we can compete”.

Bosnia need to make up five points in their final two Euro 2020 qualifiers to reach the finals next summer, and Prosinecki made it clear his team would put up a fight against Italy.

“The most important thing is that everyone is healthy and ready for this match,” he said at a Press conference.

“Italy are deservedly top of the group. They’ve won every game and I believe they have a lot of confidence.

“They have lots of good young players, they made that switch after not qualifying for the World Cup.

“They’ve built a good national side, so it certainly won’t be easy tomorrow even if they’ve already qualified.

“We want to show we can compete with any national team, especially since we’ve been playing well in Zenica, and that is what we hope for tomorrow.

“Certainly, like we’ve already said, we’re disappointed about how we’ve fared in the group.

“Our problems were away from home, where we were not as good as at home. There were the games against Finland and Armenia, where we lost.

“There was a chance in Greece, but we played poorly. The most important thing tomorrow is to play the best we can and like we did in Italy, where we lost but did really well.”

The former Barcelona and Real Madrid star then proceeded to name his starting XI for the match tomorrow, which includes three familiar faces.

“I can tell you the starting XI, but don’t ask me any more than that: Šehić, Kvržić, Kovačević, Bičakčić, Kolašinac, Pjanić, Bešić, Cimirot, Krunić, Višća, Džeko.”
