Borja Valero has claimed Inter are now reaping the rewards from the “physically tough” regime of Antonio Conte.
The Spanish midfielder insisted that the Nerazzurri are “physically the best team” and has conceded that the coach is the one who works the hardest.
“Conte is very physically demanding,” Borja Valero told Sky Sport Italia. “We work hard to achieve our goals on the pitch.
“I think we are physically the best team and you can tell from our performance on the pitch.”
The 35-year-old was happy to play his part during the 4-1 win against Cagliari and the former Fiorentina star also scored during the Coppa Italia round of 16.
“I think everyone knows how physically tough Conte is,” he added. “We have worked hard from July and now the results are evident.
“Conte does everything. From Monday to Sunday, he is the one who works the most and gives us a great desire. It’s a great satisfaction to convince this coach to get a spot in the team.”
He has only played seven times in the League this term, but was a great help for the former Italy CT when key members like Nicolò Barella and Stefano Sensi were out injured during the last quarter of 2019.
“During the first half, I didn’t play a lot. Those who help out, can also be useful during the whole season. The style of football doesn’t change much. Sometimes I’m asked to play low, other times a bit higher.”
