The Bauchi state government has raised alarm over attacks and raids by Boko Haram insurgents.

According to the secretary to the Bauchi State Government (SSG), Alhaji Sabiu Baba, four local governments in the state have been attacked by the criminals.

The terrorists who have destroyed some facilities in the state are said to be from neighboring Yobe.

The affected local governments include: Zaki, Gamawa, Darazo and Dambam. He said the state government has beefed up security around the neighboring communities.

Specifically, he said the criminals launched attack on a communication mast and carted away some of the properties.

He blamed this on the influx of criminal elements from Yobe state.

Meanwhile, he said the state government the needed support to security operatives to intensify patrol and surveillance, especially at the border communities with Yobe.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that about nine people have lost their lives in another senseless killing in Nigeria. This time, the incident occurred in different villages across two local government areas of Benue state.

Five were killed in TyoughAtee/Njaha Council ward Shagbaor, Tse Tûgh village, Mbatyough, Saghev all in Gwer West LGA while the remaining four were allegedly killed at Imandeakpu village along Gbajimba-University road in Guma LGA.

According to the newspaper, many people sustained gun wounds in the communities during the attacks. Villagers said the gunmen besieged their communities in the dead of the night, fired gunshots sporadically and hacked some people to death with cutlasses.

In another report, the Defence Minister, Magashi Bashir said that troops fighting terrorist in Borno state that bullets will not kill them.

Specifically, the minister charged troops of Operation Lafiya Dole not to fear any bullet from the terrorists. He said this when he visited the Theatre Command in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, on Sunday, April 18.

Bashir said:

“Don’t fear any bullet, the bullet will come and it will go, If you are not meant to die by a bullet you will never die but if you are meant to die by a bullet, even in your bedroom bullet will come and reach you, which is what I experienced during service.”
