Consumer journalist Martin Lewis has suggested it might be worth investing in fleece-lined hoodies and blankets ahead of the energy bills rise expected this winter.
The expert, although he didn’t name any brands, said the home comfort could save you turning your heating on this winter and therefore accumulating energy costs.
Following the recommendation, the Manchester Evening News reports that one B&M shopper has shared how she found a “Snuggle Hoodie” in the popular discount score for just £12 that she compares to the popular current trend “Oodies”.
The bargain purchase is basically a blanket that includes arms and is oversized and fleece-lined to keep out the cold this winter.

The shopper told others about her find in Extreme Coupons and Bargaining UK.
She said: “Bought this for Christmas but my daughter spotted them in boot of my car, so my daughter and sons had them early as it’s starting to feel chilly at night.
“These have lovely warm sherpa lining to snuggle up in to save having to use our heating oil at the moment until it gets colder. I tried daughters on its age 11-13-years. To give you a size guide, I’m 4ft 10” and it fits me lol they also have unicorn or rainbows design, also available in adults sizes.

“Not sure how they compare to oodies as daughter wants one but these are a fab price, very warm and cosy!”
The post was a hit with bargain hunters who rushed out to grab their £12 hoody ahead of the winter.
Martin has also shared other advice for the public ahead of the winter months including a must-do money check.
He told people back in July to reduce the impact: “If your direct debit goes up in advance, it’s actually not the worst thing because it will help spread the cost even though you might not like it.
“It’s going to be horrendous and I hope that when a new Prime Minister comes in place, the current sort of freeze on policy making ends on that day, on September 5.”

The money expert said forward planning is key and it’s important to acknowledge the hit to our pockets now.
He continued: “What’s likely to happen if you’re on the price cap, if you’re paying £100 a month now, it’ll be £165 in October.
“If you’re paying £200 a month now, it’ll be £330 in October on average. That’s the scale.”
Annual household energy bills are set to rise further in October when the price cap goes up, having already risen by more than 50% in April.
