United remain the EPL’s most successful team with 20 top-flight crowns to their name.

However, the side is yet to win the title for close to seven years now, with their last coming in 2013 under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Since the departure of the legendary manager, it is only Jose Mourinho who came closest to guiding the Red Devils to a title triumph in his maiden season, with the side finishing second with 81 points, 19 behind eventual winners Man City.

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Old Trafford outfit finished third last season, but a massive 33 points behind champions Liverpool.

The side has somewhat struggled this season, picking just three wins from seven matches to leave them rocked in the bottom half of the table in 14th.

But despite the slow start to the campaign, Fernandes, who linked up with Man United in January has boldly talked up the club’s Premier League title chances.

“People can say what they think, I don’t care. For a club like United, it’s a long time since we won the Premier League. It’s too long, I think,” Fernandes told UTD Podcast.

“So you have to have in your mind – all the players, all the staff – we’re here to win. And I think we have that mentality. I came to Manchester to win trophies,” he added.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo has been heavily linked away from Italian club Juventus but reports say the 35-year-old striker has no intentions to dump the Old Lady.

French champions PSG are also said to be lurking around to activate a deal for the Portuguese after the club’s sporting director Leonardo refused to rule out a contract for the multiple Ballon d’Or winner.
