Roma midfielder Maxime Gonalons is considering his options, as Besiktas joined Stade Rennais in pursuit, requesting a loan with option to buy.
Gonalons has just returned to base after a loan spell with Sevilla, where he barely featured due to injuries and poor form.
Rennes had seemed to be the favourites to pick up the 30-year-old, ahead of Girondins de Bordeaux.
However, Sky Sport Italia report this evening that Besiktas have dived in with a new proposal for a loan with option to buy at the end of the season.
Roma paid €5m to purchase Gonalons from Olympique Lyonnais in 2017 and he remains under contract until June 2021.
