Barcelona captain Lionel Messi was on the score sheet in their 1-1 draw against Cadiz in Sunday’s La Liga fixture and that goal means he has only failed to find the back of the net against eight teams he has met.

Barcelona were first handed a penalty in the 31st minute after Isaac Carcelen from Cadiz tripped Pedri in which Lionel Messi stepped forward to score the goal a minute later.
They were heading for a win before Clement Lenglet’s dangerous play against Ruben Sobrino gifted the visitors a penalty in the 89th minute which was scored to give them a point.
And in nearly 17 years as a professional since he made his Blaugrana debut, Messi has scored a ridiculous 655 goals in 762 appearances and scored against 69 of the 78 teams he has played against.
Just eight teams have managed to stop him finding the net. Inter Milan are the biggest team on the list, with Messi goalless in four appearances against the Italian giants – including three blanks against Jose Mourinho and his 2009/10 treble-winning Nerazzurri team.

He’s also yet to score against Rubin Kazan, Benfica, Udinese, Al Saad, Xerez, Murcia and Gramenet.
Meanwhile, legendary striker Cristiano Ronaldo becomes the first man to score at least 25 goals in 14 straight seasons as he continues to write his name in gold in football history.
His brace and one goal from Weston McKennie were all the Old Lady needed to clinch maximum points at the end of the meeting.
