Luis Suarez is not wanted by Barcelona new manager Ronald Koeman and the club is prepared to pay the Uruguayan off to free up space for other players of interest.

Reports from Spain have it that the Catalan giants are desperate to get rid of the player who has been linked with Italian champions Juventus.

However, a move to the Italian club could stall as the player is having serious issues with getting a passport.

Suarez has just one year left in his contract with Barcelona, but the club wants to get him off their wage bill as they look to sign players like Memphis Depay.

The Uruguayan international has told the club to pay him the £15million he is due to earn this season in order to be bought out of the contract.

The Spanish club earlier tried to sell the player to Juventus, but the Serie A outfit are not so keen on having the 33-year-old.

Now, though, according to Sport in Spain, Barca have relaxed their stance and would be open to stumping up part of the £15m – with Juventus paying what they want and the Spaniards making up the rest.

It is thought Suarez is demanding a three-year contract at his next club but concedes he will need to drop his wages.

Juventus remain the favourites to land the Uruguayan star but Atletico Madrid are also interested.

However, a move to Italy could be scuppered by his struggles to get a passport, according to Goal.

The forward, lined up as Gonzalo Higuain’s replacement, was hoping to get citizenship as Juventus have used up their quota of non-EU players with Arthur and Weston McKennie.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Ronald Koeman has stated that there are no issues between himself and Lionel Messi after the player made his incredible transfer U-turn to remain at the club.

As soon as Koeman was announced the new manager at the club, the Argentine told the club via fax that he wanted to leave, in a drama that ensued for two weeks.

The player decided to make a u-turn and has said he would wait to see of his contract which will expire at the end of the coming season.

When asked if there are issues between himself and the Argentine star, new manager Koeman says there is no conflict.
