Amazon introduced two new versions of the Eero mesh router at its virtual September showcase for new products and services. Both systems — the Eero 6 and the Eero Pro 6 — add in support for Wi-Fi 6, the newest and fastest version of Wi-Fi.

Mesh routers like Eero use multiple devices scattered throughout your home to spread a faster, more reliable Wi-Fi signal from room to room. In the case of Eero 6, a single router will cost $129. With the faster, more powerful Eero Pro 6 system, the price for a standalone router is $229.

It’s the second time Amazon’s rolled out new Eero devices since acquiring the company in early 2019. Last year, at a fall product showcase like today’s, Amazon introduced a new, less expensive version Eero’s system — but the lack of Wi-Fi 6 support was a noteworthy omission.

Both the Eero 6 and Eero Pro 6 mesh routers are available for pre-order on Amazon starting today, with plans to arrive at retail later this year.

This is a developing story.
