Manifest has been canceled after three seasons in the middle of the story. It’s time for Amazon to step in and save the series.
As a six-season show, it’s always disappointed to hear about a cancellation. That’s especially the case for Manifest, which left us with far more questions than answers at the end of the Season 3 finale.
There were some major moments throughout the season, and it wasn’t even performing that badly on NBC! The decision to cancel the show was a surprise, and now it’s time for a streaming platform to step in and save it.
Right now, it looks like there are calls on Netflix to do it, but we’re also calling on Amazon to step in and save the show. It’s going to be worthwhile.
Will Amazon save Manifest?
Right now, the series is being shopped around. Nobody is ready to let it go.
The decision to save a show can come down to the last minute. It took some time for Amazon to step in to save The Expanse, and it also took time for Netflix to save Lucifer. So, there’s no need to panic just yet.
Amazon would be a good home for the series. After all, there are already plenty of people buying the episodes on Digital. Why not make it available for all Amazon Prime subscribers for free? Fantasy and sci-fi shows can do well on Amazon. Just look at The Boys, The Expanse, Carnival Row, and even Upload.
The producers could also request a hybrid release model, which has become common for some shows on Amazon Prime Video. It would work for the bigger episodes to be released together but get people talking about theories each week like we do already. Netflix doesn’t really offer this model, potentially making it not quite the right home.
It feels like while we got some answers about the mystery behind the plane crash, especially the connection to Noah’s Ark. However, there were also a lot of questions left over, such as why Saanvi got a calling again and what happened to Cal at the very end. We need those answers.
