GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers were held scoreless in the first quarter for the first time this season. Aaron Rodgers and Marquez Valdes-Scantling made up for that on the first play of the second quarter.

Rodgers uncorked a deep ball to Valdes-Scantling for a 78-yard touchdown to get the Packers on the board.

Valdes-Scantling ran by cornerback Sidney Jones, and Rodgers hit him in stride at about the Jaguars’ 35-yard line. From there, Valdes-Scantling cut across the field. One of the game officials got taken out by Jaguars safety Jarrod Wilson as Valdes-Scantling worked his way across the field untouched.

Running back Aaron Jones bought Rodgers time by picking up a safety blitz by Daniel Thomas.

Valdes-Scantling has six touchdowns since the start of 2019. Five of them are 40-plus yards. Only Tyreek Hill and A.J. Brown (six each) have more in that span.

Rodgers entered the game with 10 completions of at least 30 yards in the air this season, second most behind Russell Wilson (13). Rodgers had 11 such completions all of last season, according to ESPN Stats & Information. It was also Rodgers’ 11th touchdown of 75 or more yards in his career but his first since a 75-yarder to Randall Cobb in Week 1 of 2018 against the Bears.
