Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has said he is among the young people of the world by virtue of being a child of God.

The 78-year-old clergyman made the statement while announcing the date for his church’s 2020 annual youth convention via his Twitter page.

Pastor Adeboye disclosed that this year’s convention will be held virtually from September 28 to October 2.

According to the clergyman, the youths can watch the programme via Dove TV and on streaming platforms owned by the church.

The clergyman is one of the respected pastors in Nigeria and he is married to Foluke Adeboye. They have been married since 1967.

In an earlier report by Legit.ng, the RCCG general overseer said anyone who is over 70 and still afraid of death needs to check his or salvation.

Preaching during the first Sunday Thanksgiving of the RCCG new year calendar which held at its headquarters in Lagos, the cleric noted that the government’s advise against old people coming to church due to the ravaging coronavirus was a good one.

Adeboye, however, made a declaration against death, saying everyone would live to declare the word of God.

In other news, Pastor Adeboye rejected the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The CAMA, which was signed into law by the president on August 7, has generated controversy in the last few weeks.

Adeboye’s position is not diametrically different from the stands of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).

He said: “We always align ourselves with whatever the stand of the leadership of CAN and PFN on issues like this. The Redeemed Christian Church of God does not take any decision that is at variance with the stand of CAN and PFN and the same thing applies concerning this very issue.”
