Frank Lampard will be looking to get back to winning ways when Chelsea take on Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup this evening.

Having only suffered the one defeat in an impressive pre-season as the Blues travelled all across the globe, his side started the new Premier League campaign with a 4-0 drubbing against Manchester United.

Falling behind to Marcus Rashford’s penalty in the first half after a Kurt Zouma foul, the Red Devils added further goals after the break courtesy of Anthony Martial, Rashford and Daniel James.

Chelsea will be looking to bounce back immediately and the clash against Liverpool would be the perfect game to do it given Lampard could claim his first piece of silverware as head coach at Stamford Bridge.

It will be an extremely tough game against the Reds as they head into the game in Istanbul on the back of a thumping 4-1 win against Norwich City on Friday night.

The good news for Chelsea ahead of the fixture is that Antonio Rudiger and Willian have both returned to the squad for the first time this season.

The former has been out since going under the knife on a knee injury at the end of last season, with the latter also picking up a knee problem during Brazil’s Copa America triumph last month.

Tiemoue Bakayoko is once again absent from the squad with his future in west London looking in serious doubt.

Lampard is expected to make changes to his starting XI for the game against Liverpool as he will also have one eye on Sunday’s league match against Leicester City.
