The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kaduna, Rev. John Joseph Hayab, has expressed hope that the 2023 general elections will hold in spite of all the challenges the country is passing through.

He expressed the belief that with God, nothing is impossible, stressing that Nigerians should continue to pray for the intervention of the Almighty in affairs of the country.

Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna, Hayab stated, “God has done it in the past in Nigeria by removing things that were causing anxiety when nobody expected. CAN believes that God will still show his mighty hands in Nigeria before 2023.”

According to him, Nigeria is God’s project and God would disappoint those who are terrorizing Nigerians and will deliver the country from the jaws of the lions that want to eradicate her.

He expressed optimism that 2023 would prevail only in God’s divine hands, assuring that any assumption and permutation of man could be an exercise in futility.

He appealed to the federal and state governments to bring the current security challenges under control, deal with the growing poverty and hunger in the land and put certain structures in place before 2023.

He noted that as Nigerians continue to move towards the year, they would see if the election will hold or not, asking why the election not and wondered if few privileged people who benefited from the country and have turned against her to destroy her have overthrown the majority of Nigerians that are good citizens.

Rev. Hayab said that Nigeria has more good people than bad people, saying that the difference is the bad people are louder and accomplish their bad deeds visibly whereas the good people, who are in the majority, are hiding their good deeds and are afraid to be seen and known.

CAN, therefore challenges the numerous good people of Nigeria to come together from their varied tribes, religion, or region to overshadow the limited bad people.

He expressed optimism that things are bad at the moment but believed that Nigerians’ freedom and salvation as a nation is not too far from them, saying that if God wants Nigerians to learn more lessons from what is going on now, it will not stop Him from doing something miraculous to show that the world and its fullness thereof belongs to Him.
