Swansea City are set to complete the signing of Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew from Aston Villa today (Tuesday).
The Black Stars striker is currently in Gabon with his national team as they prepare for their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations semifinal against Cameroon later this week.
Swansea manager Paul Clement has confirmed that Ayew’s transfer will be completed on Tuesday, for a fee rising to 5-million pounds. Swans defender Neil Taylor will move to Villa as part of the deal.
Clement said: “Hopefully he can follow in his brother’s footsteps [Andre Ayew played for Swansea last season].
“He knows a lot about the club, I’m sure that’s why he’s happy to come here.
“He is doing really well at the African Nations Cup and we’re bringing someone in with versatility and a different kind of striker to what we’ve got.
“Neil Taylor has been a great servant to the club and Villa will be a nice challenge for him.”
The move sees Ayew return to the English top flight after suffering relegation with Aston Villa last season.
