A 40-year old man, Fatai Adesina has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing the sum of N180,000:00 belonging to one Mr. Ajibola Musiliu.
Adesina, according to the charge sheet, stole the sum of N180,000,00 belonging to one Mr. Ajibola Musiliu sometimes in the month of April, 2013, at Oke-Ayepe , Osogbo.
The charge sheet further stated that, the accused person conspired to commit felony to wit stealing, an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 516 of the criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.1 Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.
Adesina was to have obtained the said amount of N180,000:00 from one Mr. Ajibola Musibau under false pretence that he wanted to help him spiritually knowing fully well that he was not in a position to do so.
The suspect, however, pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge of felony, stealing and obtaining money under pretence charge brought against him.
Defence counsel, Deji Atoyebi applied for the bail of the accused person, saying that the offences are bailable .
Atoyebi pleaded with the court to be liberal on the bail condition, promising that reliable surety would stand for the accused person.
Inspector Adegoke Taiwo, police prosecutor, did not opposed the bail application, just has he urged the court to give an order to verify the address of the sureties.
Ruling on the matter, Magistrate Olusola Aluko, granted bail to the accused person in the sum of N100,000,00 and two sureties in the like sum, affidavit of means and one of the surety must produce Tax Clearance Certificate, while the other surety must produce current tax receipt of three years.
He adjourned the matter till, June 14th,2013 for mention.
