Ekiti Honours Late Deputy, Declares Holiday For Her Burial

Ekiti Dep.The  Government of Ekiti has declared that Friday 26th April, 2013 will be a work-free day in the State in honour of the late deputy governor, Mrs. Funmilayo Olayinka, who will be buried on that day.

Mrs. Olayinka at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos after a protracted battle with cancer on the 6th April, 2013 at the age of 52.

The Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Tayo Ekundayo, told reporters yesterday that all government offices, including public schools, will be closed on Friday.

The remains of the late Mrs. Olayinka may be interred at a location close to the Enterprise Bank in Fajuyi, Ado-Ekiti.

Her body will arrive at Ado-Ekiti from Lagos on Wednesday for the funeral rites, which will last three days.
