The Special Adviser to the Governor of the State of Osun on Youths, Sport and Special Needs, Comrade Biyi Odunlade has condemned the former chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation,Senator Iyiola Omisore on his recent threat to unleash terror on the State.
Iyiola Omisore had accused the governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, of instigating violence in the state, particularly by sponsoring campaign of calumny against him even as residents of the states have described the accusation is an indecent jest.
Speaking in a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Mr Victor Oriola, on Saturday to Nigerian Tribune, Omisore said; “his attention had been drawn to another round of violence being perpetrated in Osun State by Governor Rauf Aregbesola and his supporters and had decided to bring this and brigandage being unleashed on the state in the name of politics to the peace-loving people of Osun State for posterity.
“It is ironical that Aregbesola, who was made an ambassador of peace by the Baptist Church at its just-concluded convention in the state, can stoop so low. How low can a government sink just to get at perceived enemy?
“Since yesterday (Friday), we have been inundated with calls about the provocative billboards being erected in the state by one Rotimi Makinde to portray Senator Omisore in a bad light. This is the latest in their series of act of hooliganism and wanton destruction of lives and property unleashed on the state since they assumed office three years ago.”
Reacting to the development the Special Adviser to Osun Governor on Youths, Sports and Special Needs, Comrade Biyi Odunlade said Omisore has further exposed himself as a lover of violence. Odunlade said “one wonders how any responsible man could complain about billboards installed in Ile-Ife by Hon Makinde popularly called Mayegun, that merely said- Osun says no to violence- without mentioning anybody’s name, by this his latest action Omisore has just officially admitted that he is the personification of violence in Ile-Ife”.
A resident of Ile-Ife, Mr Tunde Ajayi said “this is an indecent jest by the former Senator, we have had peace in Osun since the exit of PDP from power in Osun.and we pray it continues to be so.
Ajayi speaking in Ife dialect said “Osun d’ewo fun janduku, omoluabi ni wa” meaning we are virtuous people, violence is now an abomination in our land. Ajayi concluded that all of us in Ile-Ife will continue to pray and stand firm to ensure that such a terrible era of terror is never again allowed to return.
